Dr. Kristin and Dr. Alvarez have undergone multiple years of specialized dental training in order to provide the best care for your kids. With our office conveniently located in Melbourne, near the Brevard Zoo, we welcome patients from the entire Space Coast including Melbourne, Viera, Rockledge, Merritt Island, Titusville, Satellite Beach, and all over Brevard County. Kristin Cavanah Mirda, DMD
Diplomate of the American board of pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Kristin Cavanah Mirda, DMD was born and raised in North Palm Beach, Florida where she grew up in an environment that inspired and paved a way to her career in pediatrics. Her love for kids stems from many years of experience as a swimming instructor, where she developed the confidence to earn the trust and respect of any child regardless of personality type. Her energy and loving personality makes dental visits extremely fun and entertaining for children.
IDAIGNA M. ALVAREZ, DMD, MS
Diplomate of the American board of pediatric Dentistry
Idaigna M. Alvarez, DMD, MS graduated from the University of Puerto Rico Dental School in 1991. After graduating from Dental School she completed her Pediatric/Orthodontics residency at The Children’s Hospital of Alabama at Birmingham, where she was valedictorian and served as Chief Resident. She completed a Fellowship in cerebral palsy patient care and was involved in the care of medically compromised and handicapped children.

Dr. Kristin and Dr. Alvarez are absolutely amazing. They both are exceptional at keeping the experience fun for their patients as well as educational. They have a passion for dentistry and for children that shows as any visit we have had. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. The office is run in a very clear, organized way so you feel comfortable and understand the process. The dental exam is thorough and they give special coins to the kids to be able to select a prize at the end which my kids absolutely love. Because of the emphasis from this office, my kids know that brushing their teeth daily is very important. Also they send multiple reminders about upcoming appointments via email and texts which are very helpful. I have had to move one of my children’s appointments a few weeks out due to a conflict and when I called the office, they were very understanding and I was able to move the appointment within 2 weeks. This is a great place and I would (and do) highly recommend it.

Dr. Kristin and Dr. Alvarez are amazing!!! We have 3 children, one of which has high functioning autism and they are absolutely amazing with all of our boys. They do a great job at making it a friendly and safe place. I wish adults could go here too!!!!

I tell my kids they have a dentist appointment and it’s all fist pumps! We love it there. The hygienists are great and Dr. Kristin/Dr. Alvarez are super stars. Not just nice, but thorough and they take the time to explain what they are looking for and what they see. There is a real sense of empowerment in so far as my kids feel responsible for their own dental health, it’s all in how they talk to them. TVs mounted to the ceiling don’t hurt either.
